I’m a die-hard geek who spends a ridiculous amount of time being nerdy, both professionally and personally. I’m one of those few people who can say that she both loves her hobbies and her employment.
I’m President and Marketing Director of GeekGirlCon, a nonprofit run by volunteers that celebrates and supports geeky women with events and conventions. Located in Seattle, GeekGirlCon is made up entirely of volunteers, including myself. We had our first annual convention in October 2011, which sold out both days and hosted around 2,000 geeks per day.
I work for SEOmoz, an internet marketing software company, where I’m the Community Attache. In my role, I help out with social media, both off-site and on-site, with a community of over 200,000 members, create e-mail newsletters, run the annual MozCon, write copy for our product, and work on whatever else is thrown my way. With 5+ years experience in e-commerce web marketing, I’ve got some mad skillz.
My comic book collection is an earthquake hazard, and I review sci-fi television, books, comics, and local geeky events on my blogs. I dream about traveling in space.
All opinions on this blog are my own and in no way affiliated with anyone, any corporation, or the flying spaghetti monster.
